Adding Color with Underglazes

Service Description
Event Details: ● Date: Sunday, January 18 ● Time: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM ● Location: Clay Space Studio - East Wing Cost: $80 per person During this two and a half hour workshop, Deb will demonstrate the various ways to use underglazes to add color and interest to your pottery! She will demonstrate and discuss the use of various paint brushes, sponges, and trailing bottles. You’ll learn how to mix colors to obtain the hues you desire and the use of sgraffito to add dimension to your illustration, whether applied free-hand, via stencils or with underglaze transfers. We’ll also discuss using washes over designs that are carved into the greenware. Some pre-made greenware tiles will be provided for students to practice upon, and you may bring in your own greenware pieces and have full use of the underglazes, trailing bottles, brushes and other tools used during the workshop. Lists for studio-approved underglazes and stains will be provided as well as sources to purchase brushes, slip-trail bottles, underglazes and stains. *Discounts cannot be applied to this workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.org to receive a refund.
