Service Description
Prerequisite: Clay Space Members only Dates: Monday July 6 11 AM - 12 PM: Introduction in the East Wing 1 - 5 PM: Loading Tuesday July 7 6AM: Light the gas on kiln 9:30 AM - 5 PM: Firing Thursday July 9 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Unloading Location: Clay Space Studio Cost: $200 *Discounts cannot be applied to this workshop Learn the traditional studio pottery firing technique of Gas Reduction Firing to Cone 10! This is an opportunity to participate in every step of the firing process, become more versed in the nuances of loading, stacking, lighting a kiln, and firing in the reduction method. Participants will have an average 3 cubic feet of bisqued and glazed work on the cart to load into the small gas kiln by the day before the start of the workshop. Join us in expanding your pottery knowledge and discover this traditional firing technique, allowing your hands to be a part of every step of the process.
Cancellation Policy
Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.org to receive a refund.
