Service Description
Event Details: ● Date: Sunday, August 3 ● Time: 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM ● Location: Clay Space Studio - East Wing Cost: $80 per person This workshop is for both hand-builders and wheel-throwers, from beginners to experienced potters who would like to add a new technique to their repertoire. In this 2 hour workshop, Deb will demonstrate both additive and subtractive ways to make your pots unique and interesting at the greenware stage. You’ll learn how to make and apply mini-coils, buttons and sprigs using various molds we have in the studio. In addition, she’ll show you another additive embellishment using bisque bits and pieces to add texture and interest to your art. She’ll also demonstrate different ways to make handles, feet and knobs for your pots to dress them up and add pizzazz to your pieces! For subtractive embellishments, she will demonstrate the use of stamps, stencils, decorative rollers, fabric and other ways to impress designs into clay and how to incise pots to create designs around a rim, or peek-a-boo sections in a vase or bowl or plate. You are welcome to bring a piece of your own greenware to class for practice these techniques. Tools, stamps, rollers, etc. will be provided, but you’ll need to bring your own clay if you wish to attach parts to your own pot since the clay bodies need to match. *Discounts cannot be applied to this workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.org to receive a refund.
