1-hour intro to prepare for a Raku Firing Workshop

Event Details: ● Date: Thursday, October 30 ● Time: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM ● Location: Clay Space Studio Completion of this 1-hour class (or equivalent experience) is required for participation in the Raku Firing Workshops. Raku firing is an exciting, unpredictable, and organic firing process. To provide the best chance for successful outcomes and the most enjoyable experience for everyone, we require completion of the Raku 101 session. This is a one hour training with information focusing on required attire and safety equipment such as cotton or wool clothing, leather gloves and smoke protection such as a mask or bandana. More details to come at the session. Safety procedures working with the hot materials and equipment, and work around flames; unusual glazes, and their effects in the Raku Firing process. Alternate surface decoration processes including horse hair, feathers, and other organic materials. Bring your other questions about Raku Firing! **Discounts cannot be applied to this workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Clay space reserves the right to cancel any workshop or class for good cause, including but not limited to: lack of sign-ups, illness of instructor, extreme weather conditions, etc. If a class or workshop is cancelled by Clay Space, we will refund payment. We offer full refunds for cancellations made more than 10 days out from a class or workshop and 50% refunds made between 5 and 10 days before a class or workshop. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of a class or workshop. All refunds are for the designated amount minus the services fee charged to us. To cancel your class or workshop reservation, please email us at office@clayspaceeugene.org to receive a refund.
